Apparently up to 100 Gardai and the ERU, including officers from the Nation Bureau of Criminal Investigation were involved in this so called 'pre planned operation'. Sure, aren't all their operations 'pre planned'?!?
Nothing recovered but gardai said searches would continue throughout the day.
"It was a planned operation under the new legislation to deal with criminal gangs, so it's probably one of the first of its kind in the country," Chief Superintendent David Sheahan told the Limerick Leader.
"It's a major offensive against serious criminal activity in the city".
Nothing recovered - well considering those involved in crime knew that they would be coming, considering ALL the publicity in the media in recent weeks, about a so called clamp down on crime! Forewarned is forearmed eh!
Does Commissioner Murphy and Minister Ahern think we are all plebs? A crack down, my arse!
Tis a 'craic' Garda Unit all right! :>)
I'd like to actually see them arrest a big cheese!
When some people are born they get a ticket to a freak show. When you're born in Limerick, you get a front row seat!
It's a viscious circle, and you know what the worst part of this scenario is? that a vast percentage of these so called do gooder boys in blue are far more corrupt than the hardest criminal scum in Limerick. What the commissioner needs to do is have a complete overhaul in the various stations here in Limerick. If they cleaned up their act, it would be a start.
ReplyDeletethat's the Gardai for you, opening up another can of worms. Surprised other blogs haven't hit on it. Big crime boss shot dead in Dub last night.
