that's how they roll

 Wayne Dundon    has   some neck

Convicted criminal Wayne,  who was recently released from prison is claiming that he is being  harassed by the Gardai in Limerick. The Gardai have declined to comment (as is the norm *cough*).  If true, he wouldn't be the first person, convicted criminal or otherwise,  to become a victim of Garda harassment.  I'm inclined, in this instance, to believe that the Gardai are carrying out some form of intimidation.  They can't get to him any other way!  And, sadly, that's how the Gardai generally role!  Let's wait and see what the Gardai will do next.  If indeed he has made a formal complaint, then they will undoubtedly retaliate in some way.  Maybe there is an arrest on the way.....

And it's not the first time Wayne he has complained about something either..... ..

He has always denied any involvement in the murder of Limerick businessman Roy Collins and denied any involvement in organised crime in Limerick and denied Garda claims that he is one of the most violent criminals in Limerick.

He lodged a complaint to the Press Ombudsman last year about reports linking him to the murder, on grounds of breaches of the code of practice (truth and accuracy, distinguishing fact and comment, fairness and honesty, respect for rights including the right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence, and incitement to hatred against Dundon and his family).
"Just because the guards say I'm involved in something does that make it true. The sort of allegations that have been written about me, I've never been charged or arrested for any of them or brought to court for them," .
"I'm not an angel, I've never said that. But I've just done five-and-a-half years, why can't I be left alone? There is more proof that aliens exist than there is for some of the things I'm meant to have done."

His Solicitor (Peter Madden) maintained that certain press and media convicted him without trial or sufficient evidence and stated that Dundon was in prison at the time the murder occurred and that Gardai had not approached him regarding the murder or charged him.  In his statement at the time, Peter Madden said the allegations 'carried no weight'.

The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses. - Malcolm X

  2. what about all the other victims of Garda harassment here in Limerick? I'm aware of several, and one particular nasty and vindictive one involving an individual who made a complaint against one of them. The Gardai in Limerick seem to have plenty of time on their hands to harass innocent people who complain them. One particular case spans a decade. Seems out of sorts that they would harass someone like W Dundon? All they do is pussy foot around these guys. High ranking Gardai, Judges, DPP all have a lot to answer for. Limerick is beyond corrupt, it's a disgrace.

Over the coming weeks we will all be subjected to a spectacular show, resulting from yesterdays talks re reinstating the ERU in Limerick. A show, because that's exactly what it will entail! The Commissioner announced imminent prosecutions over the coming weeks. who are they going to prosecute? the underdogs? The heat is on the Commissioner and the Gardai in Limerick now to enforce the law this time round. I don't think the decent people of Limerick should hold their breath!

  4. Just reading this in the Times. Commissioner Murphy “A number of files are now with the DPP awaiting a decision by him and I would expect progress in the near future. But I have to say as Commissioner of the Gardaí it’s ultimately a matter for the DPP.”

“We are doing our best to put together the evidence that is required under the new legalisation. That legislation, as I’ve said before, is necessary and I look forward to prosecutions not just here in Limerick but in other parts of the country and we have targeted a number of gangs and files have been sent to the DPP with strong recommendations for prosecution.”

They are doing their best to put together evidence?????!!!!? WTF! Their best isn't obviously good enough. And he says, ultimately a matter for the DPP?!?!?!? They are quick enough to get around the DPP when it suits them!

  6. Ah lads, give the hard working Gardai a break. The Herald has it that up to 12 officers from the ERU will be on patrol in specially armed vehicles 24 hours a day over the coming weeks. Up to 12. What does that mean? 1, 2 or even 3 maybe? I leave you with that thought :>)

Tis the gards that are keeping the waring factions alive, causing consternation between the rival gangs.
