Giving the finger..
Ger Dundon (along with Terrance McNamara, Christopher McCormack and David McCormack) appeared before Tom O'Donnell at the District Court via video link yesterday. Dundon had his face half covered with a bandana when the O'Donnell ordered the link turned off, after Dundon made a rude gesture with his middle finger. The video link is the new fan dangled technology installed in the court house last year (that only works half the time!).
O'Donnell said that he wasn't going to stand for a 'performance like that' and said it was 'uncalled for and unnecessary'. He told Dundon that he would be treated with respect if he showed respect to the court.
Dundon has been in custody for 86 days in relation to a violent disorder charge in February of this year. The book of evidence was not produced yesterday but Michael Murray State Solicitor advised the court that it was ready and O'Donnell then proceeded to adjourn the case back to Friday so that documents could be served (isn't there a lot of pissing about with this case?!?!) and a return for trial date fixed (puting it on the 'long finger' cough)
If somebody is mildly angry, they might just give the middle finger. If they’re very angry, they might give it with some sort of words or facial expression that shows anger. And if they’re off-the-charts angry, they may give a double....

eight of them charged today with violent disorder and granted free legal aid. the system is a fucking joke.
ReplyDeletethey get free legal aid, and then there are people like me, working and being taxed through the roof to pay their fees!

ReplyDeletethey all appeared in court in handcuffs and there was uproar. The Judge said he wasn't comfortable with the handcuffs. While I for one want scum off the streets, it's easy to see that the Gardai are trying to stitch this lot up because they can't get them for anything else, which makes the whole legal process unjust and unfair.
what's happening now, is that the Gardai are trying to round up the underdogs around the City. The pressure is on to get results as the spotlight has been on Limerick for some time now. In a way I agree with Moriarty above, they are rounding these thugs up and trying to charge them with anything they can, but they are still failing to tackle the big dogs! They had some planned searches again this week, resulting on one male arrested for possession of a gun. It will only lead to more violence and disagreements among the gangs. The Gardai are handling this all wrong. They are trying to show force by trying to be the big boys themselves in front of the media, with the handcuffs etc. What's going to happen is that some innocent person is going to get caught in the middle of it all and probably go down for the big dogs. It's time for a big shake up within the Gardai and it's time Commissioner Murphy and Dermot Ahern filtered the whole lot out, otherwise Limerick will be in the same situation next year and thye year after and the year after, only ten times worse!
ReplyDeletewhat is wrong with you people? you should be thanking the Gardai for rounding up these animals!
ReplyDeleteLimerick is infested with scumbags, low life, money sucking dregs of society and not only that but look at the high percentage of unmarried mothers sucking the state dry. Anyone that has anything bad to say about the Gardai should be punished accordingly.
Caherdavin and the Ennis Road area have become a scumbag rat infested area. My home town is a shithole and when I head home and I look at the neighbours, I think, pure scum! and even the local pub has turned into a right shithole.
I have close associations with some Gardai and they do what they have to do to get results.

ReplyDeleteO'Muircheartaigh, before you go labeling everyone from Caherdavin scum, think again! I'm from Caherdavin and certainly not scum. Sure enough some families have been rehoused there, but don't black list everyone. O'Muircheartaigh, isn't that the Irish for Murray arty (said in flah limerick accent). What's up, Murray arty (moriarty) too common for you?? Are you then saying that the Gardai have the right to handle crime in Limerick in an untoward manner, in other words, inciting corruption?? You are a disgrace.
they appeared before special criminal court today and have been remanded in custody until 7th October.
ReplyDeletehmmm I'd say o'muircheartaigh is talking about Clareview!
theres a lot more goin on in limerick than people realize. half of it isnt published on the newspapers. there was a chap recently given five years for serious assault who is related to some people causing a lot of trouble in limerick and his name was kept out of the paper by a local paper and the gards. i heard his name was kept out because someone related to him paid off the paper and asked the gards to keep it quiet. i wont mention the paper but most people will know the one im talking about. this chap will probably be out after a year anyway and he has a good few previous convictions too.

ReplyDeleteWell, there's no surprise there! I betcha it's the local rag that seems to have a direct line to the boyos in blue!! The one that apparenlty "print what they are given", the one that started Williegate and the same disgraceful one that had yer man of the Dundons splashed across the front page.
I see that one of the locals was promoted and moved out somewhere near Newcastlewest. Probably to get him out of the way hahaha, he was complained a few times.
ReplyDeleteone of the locals Bosco? do you mean one of the local Gardai promoted? Whomever it is will settle in well there anyway, Newcastlewest is renowned for the odd bit of corruption LOL
